Frequently asked questions
Q. How much does a silk bridal bouquet cost?
A. As each bouquet is unique and made to order I don’t have a set price list. To give you an idea, the client’s bridal bouquets in my weddings page range from £70 to £110, bridesmaid’s bouquets £40 to £75, and buttonholes £7 to £12 (prices from 2013 – 2019 weddings). Please contact me for a free quote.
Q. How long before my wedding should I order my flowers?
A. You are welcome to order your flowers as early as you like. They can be made well in advance of your wedding day and delivered on a date that suits you. All bouquets are made to order so ideally please allow 2-3 months, but if you require them more urgently please don’t hesitate to enquire.
Q. How do I go about ordering my wedding flowers from you?
A. If you live locally you are very welcome to make an appointment to discuss your requirements (see general questions below). Otherwise we can discuss your wishes by phone or email. I am happy to work from images you have collected and can supply computer generated designs for you to see. A deposit (non-refundable) is required to confirm your order and the balance before delivery. I will send you images of the flowers available for your approval before commencing work on the bouquet and again when the bouquet is complete.
Q. Can I purchase samples of flowers to see what the quality is like?
A. All the flowers/foliage I use are of the highest quality, but you are welcome to purchase any individual flowers to assess their quality.
Q. Do you make wedding table arrangements?
A. Yes, I can make any kind of table arrangements for you. I am only able to send flowers in plastic trays/bowls through the post, if you wish to have glass/china containers they will need to be personally collected. Please see the arrangements page for design ideas.
Q. How much does a replica bouquet cost?
A. The cost will depend on the type of flowers and time required to replicate the bouquet. The bouquets on my replica bouquets page range from £65 to £198, with many around £110 (prices from 2016 – 2019 orders). Please contact me for a free quote.
Q. How long does it take to make a replica bouquet?
A. Ideally I would like 2 months but I understand replica bouquets are often given as presents and therefore aren’t thought of until nearer the time. Please give me as much time as you can but don’t hesitate to ask even if you only have a week!
Q. How many photos do you need?
A. Please email me photos that show the bouquet clearly from the top, side and if possible being held. Close up photos of good quality are ideal but even old black and white photos are useful if you have an idea of the flowers and colours.
Q. Can you use the ribbon from the original bouquet on the replica?
A. Yes I can use the ribbon and any pins from the original bouquet if you would like to post them to me.
Q. Will the replica look exactly the same as the original?
A. I try my very best to source flowers that look exactly like the fresh ones, but there is less choice in silk flowers so it isn’t always possible to achieve an exact match. I will send you images of the flowers available for your approval before commencing work on the bouquet and again when the bouquet is complete.
Table Arrangements and Gift Bouquets
Q. How much does a table arrangements cost?
A. The cost will depend on the type of flowers and time required to make the arrangement. Please contact me for a free quote.
Q. Can I order an arrangement in a glass or china dish?
A. I am only able to send flowers in plastic trays/bowls through the post or just as a bouquet to be placed in your own container. If you wish to have the arrangement in a glass/china container it will need to be personally collected.
Q. Can you do a next day gift bouquet delivery?
A. Sorry no! I order flowers as and when I need them and hold only a small amount of stock. If you require a bouquet in a hurry I may be able to help you but the flower choice will be very restricted, please contact me to discuss the options.
Q. Are all your flowers made of silk?
A. The flowers aren’t actually made of silk but most of them are made with fabric petals and leaves. Some types of flowers and leaves, especially the very small ones are made of plastic, and flowers such as Calla Lilies and Orchids are made of a material that gives them a ‘real touch’ feel.
Q. Will the cut flower stems have sharp ends?
A. No, all the cut stems in hand tied bouquets are carefully resealed so they are smooth and won’t catch on your dress.
Q. How do I care for my silk flowers?
A. It is recommended that the flowers are displayed out of direct sunlight and any dust removed regularly with a cold hair dryer. Do not get them wet as their colour-fastness cannot be guaranteed.
Q. Can I visit your shop to discuss my flowers?
A. I don’t have a shop, but you are very welcome to make an appointment to visit my home workshop to discuss your requirements, or if you live within 25 miles I’m happy to visit you.
Q. Do you charge for a quote and consultation?
A. No, all quotes and consultations are free. However I will charge a mileage fee if you require me to travel more than 25 miles.
Q. Do you accept international orders?
A. No, I’m afraid I only take orders from within the UK.
Q. How much does delivery cost?
A. P&P is £12 next day special delivery by Royal Mail for a single bouquet (+ buttonholes); please contact me for prices for multiple bouquets and large arrangements. And £10 for personal delivery within 25 miles.
Q. How do you accept payment?
A. I can only accept payment by direct bank transfer (preferred), cheque or cash.
Q. Will you require a deposit?
A. Yes, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to confirm your order and the balance before your order is dispatched/delivered/collected.
“Absolutely love my wedding bouquet delivered this morning by Sharon. Can’t wait for the day so that I can use them! And the bonus with silk flowers is that I can keep looking at the, between now and then, and then have them forever after the day. Sharon really understood what I wanted, and just got it so right. Thank you xx” Claire and Paul, Yeovil
“We met Sharon at a wedding fayre and immediately knew she would be the right person to create our wedding 2035flowers. She took the time to find out about us, our wedding and all the ideas we had as well as the design of my dress to ensure that everything came together beautifully. I would recommend Sharon to everyone, she is a wonderful lady, very friendly and will go above and beyond to ensure your flowers are perfect and exactly what you dreamed off. Thank you so much. x” Victoria and Chris, Somerset
